During first half of June there was still a lot of snow in Tatra mountains, it was very slippery and dangerous for ordinary walker as me, so I had to find some other location for a first trip after the lockdown. I have chosen Karkonosze mountains, which are completely different from the Tatras, lower but as beautiful. Additionally they have one huge advantage - even if there is fog or rain, still one can find a lot of places where great photos can be taken.
When weather is good, one can see beautiful panorama of Karkonosze mountains when you approach town of Szklarska Poreba (my base for this trip). Whan I was driving there - only thing I could see was one, huge, gray cloud covering whole range. I reached my destination some time before the sunset, so I went to the first location in stride. It was Szklarka Waterfall which is perfect location for first outing - it takes just few minutes to get there from the nearest parking. Waterfall is really nice and additioally - thanks to incoming dusk nobody was there. Even nearby refugee looked as it was closed down completely.
